Terry’s Township Achievements.

Terry has served as a Miami Township Trustee since January 14, 2020. Since that time, he is the only trustee to not miss a stated meeting (more than forty). He has given three proclamations, and attended two ribbon cuttings. Those are all superficial things. During his tenure as Miami Township Trustee, he has worked with the other trustees and township staff to:

Maintain safe and operational local government during the pandemic. Miami Township was one of the few local government agencies during the pandemic that did not reduce services as a result of the stay at home orders. Staff and trustees worked from home or via Zoom, but maintained the same levels of service at pre-pandemic levels.

Create a Community Investment Fund to address funding opportunities through the American Rescue Plan and recent Ohio law changes. This one of a kind proposal will seek to bring resident, business, government, and non-profit stakeholders together to improve the township (Miami Township's New Fund Will Benefit Neighborhoods, WDTN - August 9, 2021)

Appoint Miami Township Development Director Chris Snyder to the newly created Assistant Township Administrator role. This effort helps to streamline township operations and provide for appropriate professional growth and succession planning.

Join and finance a new broadband system connecting the township buildings with the MVCC fiber optic ring. This "consortium of governments" internet provider provides world class speed and connectivity and pricing lower than that of traditional providers (Miami Twp. OKs Deal to Join Suburban Network for Faster Internet - Dayton Daily News - June 2, 2021)

Renew and upgrade the existing trash collection contract with Rumpke to provide improved services until 2024 with only a modest present increase (Miami Township Trash and Recycling Information)

Re-form the Miami Township Parks Board. This effort restores a board disbanded more than a decade ago, and will be used to seek community engagement regarding development and utilization of Miami Township’s park assets (Miami Twp. to Create Parks Advisory Board - Dayton Daily News - October 3, 2021)
